Summary
"The Woman on the Stage" Woody Partner drives a stagecoach along with his business partner Shiloh Jennings, taking passengers from town to town and dreaming of the days when their land claims will make them rich. On a day like any other day, a beautiful young woman climbs aboard the coach bench next to him. Though he's perturbed that she won't sit in the back with the rest of the passengers, he finds himself strangely drawn to this fiery stranger?. Laurel Dennison has just lied about the identity of her husband, and without thinking of the consequences, stands to profit from his untimely death. As a single young woman hoping to make a new start in Lodgepole, eligible men flock to her from all sides, offering aid. But she is hesitant to accept them, especially as her ruse is carried on for months, making her a wealthy business woman in the small town.
